As you will be aware, Network Rail are now a fully devolved organisation and responsibility for the procurement and management of “Built Environment” will rest with the 5 Regions going forward. There is a transition period in place at the moment but the next Control Period, CP7 (2024 to 2029), will see all the new frameworks and one off contracts delivered in this manner.
Notwithstanding this, Network Rail will still have an oversight of this process from the centre. In this regard, CECA’s Rail Director, Bill Free, has arranged for Nathan Thomas, Strategic Category Manager with Network Rail, to explain this process and get feedback from CECA members as to how we can best contribute to the efficient delivery of CP7.
